Success Children was founded by Rose Astrid Valmond in November 2008, after she was inspired by God to assist four children in Haiti to obtain an education. Although this seemed like a difficult mission, not knowing where the money would come from she listened. Later on that day, following her inspiration from God, a woman approached her at church asking if she knew of anyone in need of help in Haiti. She knew this woman was sent by God and gave Him the glory.
They spoke and Rose explained her plan to send these four children to school. To her surprise, she received a donation of $500.00. This was the money she would use to pay the children’s tuition. About a year later, she was once again inspired by God to add ten more children to her program. Again, she asked herself “how will I afford this”? Rose went by faith and decided that God would provide. She decided that she would work extra hours to earn the money needed to pay for the children’s tuition.
In August 2009, Rose traveled to Haiti where she added ten more children to her program. Today, she now sponsors a total of forty-two (42) children and hopes to include many more. She hopes to assist the children with not only an education but also assist their families in providing proper shelter, clothing, and food. She believes that every child deserves a chance at an education, a chance at a better life, and by God’s grace, she hopes to complete this mission that God has called her to pursue.
